Tamil Nadu Express Fire Accident Tragedy

The day started with a sorrow news about the Tamil Nadu express fire accident. This is not the first rail accident happening, also this is not going to be the last accident. The response from our Railways and government is a stereotype answer saying that "compensation will be paid", "Enquiry has been commenced". It is really disheartening to see such accidents in a world's largest network our Indian Railways.

Hardly in a matter of 3 hours the Tamil Nadu express would have reached safely the Chennai central. Many were sleeping during the accident, none would have even had a wild dream that it is their last sleep. As per the initial information it says the fire started near the toilet and worst part of it was the doors of the compartment were jammed and was not able to open to rescue out. This is the condition of our railways.
Being such a revenue making organisation, our Indian Railways can perform much better than their present level. What is not available in our country India. We are abundant of Innovation, Technology, creativity, labour force, Raw materials and what not. But then what stops Railways in providing a much much better service to the common public.
Following are some of the ideas arising even for a lay man to avoid such happening of fire accidents in future.
  • Why can't Fire proof coaches be manufactured?
  • Why not thinking of placing Fire Alarm in all the coaches, on any emergency arising out of fire a digital display of coach number and alarm could be raised in Engine Driver room and as well in the guard room.
  • Why not thinking of implementing automated Fire extinguishers in each compartments? If any fire arises in any of the compartments, these extinguishers should be activated and to put off the fire immediately.
  • Why not thinking of implementing GPS on the trains. This will be very useful in many ways.
I am not able to see now the exact practical difficulties or hindrances in implementing the above said points. But I am sure our Indian Railways are capable enough to stop / prevent such Fire accidents in any trains in future.

Though there are many other issues to point out about our Railways, but this is not the right time to express as all our hearts are filled with so much sorrow of today's fire accident.

Hoping for the best. Wishes & Prayers to our Indian Railways.

Varadaraja Theater Rocks..

The recent visit during June 2012 to Chennai was awesome with many happenings and gatherings. Met my cousin after almost 10 years duration. It was great reunion of many people. I guess a separate post (if at all some are interested to know..!!) about other happenings and experience during recent chennai trip can be posted.

The best thing was, Mr.Rajesh Subramanian an ex-contributor to this blog was also present in chennai while I was there. One noon we both went to the tamil movie 'Saguni' to the nearby theater Varadaraja which is just 15 minutes ride from our place. I still remember during my school & college days that this theater was nothing more than a tent talkies with its environment and infrastructure. We prefer this theater as the very last option to go and remember watching the movie 'Amaran' in this theater.

But I was wonder struck and happy to see the recent renewed Varadaraja Theater. Whatey change over yaa.. Amazing.. Awesomatic of the Aromaley.. That was a mind blowing renovation, with perfect seating facilities and ambience. Also there were thorough security check at the entrance of the cinema hall..!! The Air condition and the fragrance inside the theater was the best highlight to emphasis. I thoroughly enjoyed the theater's new appearance than the movie 'Saguni'.

Also Varadaraja theater got a good web site but yet the online booking facility is not enabled. I am sure this brand new look of varadaraja is definitely going to give a tough competition to evergreen Vettri and Rakesh Theaters.

I hope and wish Varadaraja maintains this for many years. For sure I will definitely have a check of  Varadaraja theater's maintenance during my next visit to chennai.. :-)

Wishes to the First Citizen of India

Jai Hind.

Hearty wishes to the newly elected The President of India H.H. Mr.Pranab Mukherjee. After all the hardships faced by our President in contesting this election at last experienced the proudest moments of being the first citizen of India. May the Almighty bless our president with all the good things, strength and will power in developing our country in the right path.

It is the strongest desire of every citizen of India in having a scandal free, dynamic and neutral person as the president. As of now nothing much can be commented about this desire of the Indian people except agreeing the only one factor that Mr. Pranab Mukherjee is a 'Scandal Free' person. But there is a very thick line of doubt prevails in every mind that whether the brand of the party Congress and politician status will stick ever with our new president. Time and God alone knows the clear answer for this.

As a politician and the representative of every Indian as a Member of Parliament and as a Minister Mr. Pranab Mukherjee has totally failed in his prime duties. Being a good person with a wrong group is as equal to committing all the wrong things along with the wrong people. Our country has not seen any progress and prosperity while Mr.Pranab Mukherjee holding an important Minister post.

It is high time for Mr.Pranab Muhkerjee to show his patriotism and neutrality in his all words and deeds. The history should not merely say Mr.Pranab Mukherjee as mere President of India, but it should say the best President of our country. Will this happen? Sincerely pray the Almighty to make this happen.

Though our Ex.President honourable Mr. APJ Kalam holds high respect among the citizens of India but totally disappointed every one by stepping back from contesting for the president post. As a normal citizen we cannot understand the real happenings and intentions of Mr.APJ Kalam's decision of not contesting so it is better not to talk much about this. But really feeling that Mr.APJ Kalam could have shown his patriotism by accepting to contest in the president election. Anyways gone is gone.. We will hope for the best.

Bharat Mata ki Jai. Satyameva Jayate.
